Ground beef 1 pound
Onion, diced 1 medium
Garlic, minced 3 cloves
Red bell pepper, diced 1
Tomato sauce 1 can (15 ounces)
Black beans, drained and rinsed 1 can (15 ounces)
Corn kernels 1 cup
Canned diced tomatoes 1 can (14.5 ounces)
Chili powder 2 tablespoons
Cumin 1 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Step 2: Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced red bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3: Stir in the tomato sauce, black beans, corn kernels, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let the chili simmer for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Step 4: Serve the Tex-Mex Chili hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro, and sliced jalapenos.
