Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Bratwurst sausages 4
Sauerkraut 1 can (16 oz)
Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
Onion 1, thinly sliced
Beer 1/2 cup
Caraway seeds 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper 1/2 teaspoon

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: Preheat your grill or heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil and thinly sliced onions. Cook until the onions are softened and starting to caramelize, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2: Push the onions to one side of the skillet or grill, and add the bratwurst sausages. Cook the sausages for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned and cooked through.
  • Step 3: In the meantime, drain and rinse the sauerkraut. Add the sauerkraut, beer, caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper to the skillet or grill. Stir everything together, then cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend and the sauerkraut to warm through.
  • Step 4: Serve the bratwurst and sauerkraut hot, either on a bun or on a plate. You can also serve it with mustard or other condiments of your choice. Enjoy!
