Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef 1 lb
1 small onion, diced 1
1/2 cup pickles, diced 1/2 cup
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 cup
1 cup milk 1 cup
1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup
1 tsp mustard 1 tsp
1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  • Step 2: Add the diced onion to the skillet with the ground beef and cook until the onion is translucent and tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 3: Stir in the diced pickles and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Step 4: In a separate saucepan, whisk together the milk, flour, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
  • Step 5: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Step 6: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the ground beef mixture. Top with half of the cheese sauce. Repeat the layers with the remaining ground beef mixture and cheese sauce.
  • Step 7: Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  • Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  • Step 9: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
