Ingredients:

All-purpose flour 2 cups
Baking powder 1 tablespoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
Black pepper 1 teaspoon
Egg 1
Milk 1 1/2 cups
Vegetable oil 1/4 cup
Butter for serving
Maple syrup for serving

Cooking Instructions:

  • Step 1: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vegetable oil.
  • Step 3: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
